2. THE TREE OF LIFE

WATCH THE CLIP BELOW!
Did you know that the huge 14-story Tree of Life in the middle of the Animal Kingdom is actually an old oil rig? The Imagineers discovered that it would be able to withstand hurricane strength winds which was extremely important considering it's location.
3. THE DINOSAUR RIDE

There are three different colored pipes with chemical formulas on them in the waiting area of the Dinosaur ride. The formula for the red pipe is for ketchup. The formula for the yellow pipe is for mustard. And, the formula for the white pipe is for mayonnaise. The pipes were from McDonald's when they had sponsored the ride.
4. THE ANIMAL KINGDOM SIGNS

The dragons on the Animal Kingdom signs are from an area called the Beastly Kingdom. This area was going to represent mythical animals but Disney decided to scrap the whole idea.

Disney does not sell gum anywhere in their parks which is why you rarely see gum stuck to the rides or on the sidewalks.
8. TRASH CANS

You are never more than 30 steps away from a trash can when you're inside a Disney park. Walt Disney himself went to other theme parks to see how long people would hold onto their trash before dropping it on the ground. Apparently it's 30 steps.

11. SMELLITIZERS

There are tons of Smellitizers secretly hidden all throughout Disney parks that emit scents that match the surroundings. You know that delicious smell of yummies being baked over in Main Street? You can thank Smellitizers for that! They're literally all over the place. The salty sea air that you smell while waiting in line for the Pirates of the Caribbean, the fresh citrus scent wafting through the air around Soarin’, and the burning lumber near the scene depicting the fall of Rome on Spaceship Earth are all coming from Smellitizers!
12. LIBERTY SQUARE

The brown windy path in Liberty Square is supposed to represent raw sewage flowing throught the streets just like back in the colonial days before indoor plumbing was invented.
13. THE HAUNTED MANSION

There is a ring embedded into the concrete in the waiting line of the Haunted Mansion that belongs to the hanging bride in the room that stretches and the attic part of the ride
14. TOY STORY

The Toy Story characters would fall to the ground and freeze whenever guests would scream "Andy's coming!". Unfortunately, due to safety reasons they stopped doing this.
15. THE PRESIDENTIAL SEAL

There are only three Presidential Seals: one in the Oval Office, one in the hall of the Liberty Bell, and one in the Hall of Presidents at Disney World. It actually took an act of Congress to install the seal there.
16. THE GRASS IS ALWAYS GREENER

Besides having the best expert gardeners in the world, there's another reason why the grass and plants always seem so much greener at Disney parks: science! Most of the pavement throughout the parks have a reddish pink hue to them which creates an optical illusion. The hue sets off the red receptors in our eyes making everything look way greener than they really are!
17. TINKER BELL'S TREASURES

If you're one of the first people to reach Tinker Bell's Treasures in the morning when the park first opens you'll get the chance to wake her from her slumber! Plus, if you see her during the daytime, clap your hands and say "Tinker Bell" and she'll start playing with you.
18. THE PALM TREES

The palm trees in Tomorrowland fold up at dusk and unfold at dawn.
19. INDIANA JONES RIDE

When you're standing in line for the Indiana Jones ride and you see a sign like this one, it's okay to let yourself be a little rebel and do what the sign tells you not to do! Go ahead, pull that rope and see what happens!
20. THE MATTERHORN

There is a secret basketball court for employees to play in the top section of the Matterhorn. The bobsleds only use the first 80 feet of the 147 foot tall mountain.

21. DISNEY DREAM SUITE

WATCH THE CLIP BELOW!
There is a suite directly above the Pirates of the Carribean ride that is only available by winning a promotional giveaway. This is one thing that money can't buy! The suite was originally for the Disney family to entertain their guests but was never used because Walt Disney had died before it was finished.
22. WALT DISNEY'S APARTMENT

Walt Disney had an apartment above the Disneyland Fire Department. He would leave a light on in the window so that employees would know when he was there. The light still stays on in remembrance of Walt and is only turned off whenever his daughters are in the park which is done out of respect for them.
23. TEST BRICKS

If you go to Main Street and look behind the water fountain next to the lockers you will find a brick wall made of bricks that don't match in size or shape. These are actually bricks that Walt Disney used to figure out what size and shape he wanted the bricks to be in the park!
24. DISNEY CATS

There are about 200 cats that live in the park and are released every night to catch the mice. During the day they sleep in well-hidden cat houses away from visitors.
25. THE TOMBSTONES

The tombstones in the graveyard at the Haunted Mansion are for real people who were Imagineers at Disney in the early years.
26. NOSEEUM GREEN

The Imagineers at Disney invented their own shade of green called noseeum green. Trash cans, buildings, and any other unattractive things in the park are painted with this color so that they "disappear" into the background and go unnoticed by guests. Supposedly, this color is the most unobtrusive shade of the spectrum.
27. THE GOLDEN SPIKE

There is a gold spike in the ground right outside of Fantasyland that was used to make sure that Main Street was centered with Cinderella's castle.
28. THE OLD DISNEY PHONE

There is an old phone mounted on the wall inside the hat shop on Main Street that lets you eavesdrop on a conversation between a woman and her daughter about what to get at the store and how to attract men.
29. A SECRET CLUB

Did you know that there is an ultra-exclusive secret VIP club located right next to the Blue Bayou restaurant called Club 33? This club is so exclusive that the waiting list to get accepted into it is years. It is the only place in the park that serves alcohol. Rumor has it that there are only a total of 500 people in the entire world who belong to this club and costs $25,000 initially and then $10,000 each year after. Yes, people are secretly partying inside secret rooms at Disneyland.
